Modern Assistance and Member Support

Iron Workers have physically demanding jobs that can lead to pain and injury, and all of us at Local 7 understand that substance abuse and mental health issues know no bounds. If you, a family member, or a friend is struggling with substance abuse or mental health issues, Local 7 is here to help.

We host a weekly Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting at Local 7. Meetings are held on Monday evenings, and all are welcome. Please contact Mike Doucette at mdoucette@iwlocal7.org for more information.

Local 7 is proud to partner with Modern Assistance to offer a full range of services for eligible members and dependents. Some of the services that Modern Assistance Programs offers assistance with may arise in relation to the following:
  • substance abuse
  • mental health
  • occupational stress
  • emotional distress
  • major life events, including births, accidents, and deaths
  • health care concerns
  • financial or non-work-related legal concerns
  • family or personal relationship issues
  • work relationship issues
Modern Assistance’s services are confidential, which means no personal information about your case can be given out to third parties without your written consent. Exceptions to this are those required by law, which includes when a person is an imminent danger to themselves or others or is aware of ongoing abuse to a minor or elder.

It’s OK to ask for help. Call 617-774-0331 or 800-878-2004 for help today.
